Saving money is what we’re all about here at PCMag’s Deals Department, and one of the best ways to do that in the laptop world is by looking beyond Apple and Windows laptops to the Chromebook market. What was once a niche for ultra-cheap student laptops has expanded radically as Chrome OS becomes more powerful and versatile, and modern Chromebooks are faster and more capable than ever before, while still hundreds of dollars cheaper than the competition. We expect to see a lot of Black Friday deals on Chrome devices, but here are some early deals on portable devices that you can save on right now.
ChromeOS is built around touchscreen input, so the detachable and two-in-one form factors are very popular for Chromebook devices. One we really like is the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3, which has a detachable keyboard and display stand. In our review, lead analyst Brian Westover said the portable was “a great option to consider if you’re in the market for a small smart tablet that works like a laptop,” praising its punchy Qualcomm Snapdragon 7cG2 processor and comfortable and responsive keyboard. . This configuration comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal eMMC storage.

Here’s a big price drop for a very capable Chromebook convertible. In our review of the x360, analyst Zackery Cuevas stated that the laptop “delivers nice performance at a good price,” praising its attractive design and responsive touchscreen. A fully flexible hinge lets you use it as a tablet, canopy display or traditional laptop, and it’s durable enough for regular use.
