ForbesToday’s NYT ‘Connections’ Tips and Answers for Thursday, November 7 (#515)

Hey guys. The weekend is almost upon us after a hell of a week. Before we get there, though, we have one more game to play Connections to check.

of today NYT Connections hints and answers for Friday, November 8, are coming soon.

How to play the links

Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. You get a new puzzle at midnight every day. You can play in NYT the Games website or app.

You are presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to arrange them into four groups of four by finding the connections between them. Groups can be things like clickable items, names for research study participants, or words preceded by a body part.

There is only one solution to each puzzle and you will have to be careful when it comes to words that can fit into more than one category. You can mix the words to help you see the connections between them.

Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to understand, the blue and green fall in between, and the purple group is usually the hardest. The purple group often includes puns.

Choose four words that you think go together and press submit. If you make a guess and are incorrect, you will lose a life. If you’re close to making a correct set, you may see a message telling you that you’re just one word away from getting it right, but you’ll still need to figure out which one to switch.

If you make four mistakes, it’s game over. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen with the help of some tips and, if you’re really struggling, today Connections answers. How about me Wordle and other similar games, it’s easy to share scores with your friends on social media and group chats.

If you have one NYT All Access or Games subscription, you can use Connections the archive. This includes any previous games of Connectionsso you can go back and play any of the ones you missed.

Aside from the first 60 games or so, you should be able to find my suggestions for each network via Google if you need them! Just click here and add the game date you need data on or search query answers for.

I quickly got the yellows, followed by the blues. I got stuck a bit after that.

I tried a guess of DECK, SOUR, SWEET, and Cord, realizing that Cheese, mustard, kosher, and dill might be greens, but not cigars.

However, the cheese, sour, sweet and dill left me one. DECK and CORD were out of contention, so I swapped CHEESE for MUSTARD, leaving me with another one again. Changing the latter to KOSHER finished the job.

I absolutely despise pickles (and cucumbers in general), although I have enjoyed mildly pickled vegetables in Japanese restaurants. I had some luck here, although I thought DILL might have something to do with those disgusting creations.

However, that left the purples on their way to victory. At first I thought CORD and STUNT might be things you pull, so I wasn’t a million miles away from the right approach.

That’s all there is for today Connections data and response. Be sure to check my blog for tips and solutions for Saturday’s game if you need them.

PS I’m going to offer a different kind of recommendation today. If you’re unfamiliar with terms like “compound interest,” “dollar cost averaging,” and “time in the market,” it’s worth learning about some personal finance concepts.

You’re never too young (or old!) to start building for the future. The earlier you start saving and investing whatever money you can afford, the more time it has to grow, meaning you’ll be much more financially comfortable in the years and decades to come.

I’m in a pretty comfortable place now, but I’ve only started learning about these things relatively recently. If I had been more financially literate in my early 20s, I would be in a much better position now.

I’ve read a book or two and subscribed to some reliable YouTube channels on the subject (get in touch if you want me to share). But as it happens, Forbes has a newsletter aimed at helping beginners with budgeting, investing, saving for retirement and so on. You can register here:

(Please note that this is not financial advice, nor is it sponsored in any way. I’m just hoping to help new readers avoid the same mistakes I made in the beginning!)
